SA FAIL STATE

About

About This Site

This site is the work of a South African who left and gained the freedom to speak plainly. It is anonymous by design — not out of cowardice, but because the work should stand on its own. The facts are the facts regardless of who publishes them.

South Africa has a culture of silence around its failures. Criticism is deflected as racism, pessimism, or privilege. International media largely ignores the country except for feel-good stories or Nelson Mandela retrospectives. The result is that millions of South Africans — especially the poor, who bear the full weight of state failure — are invisible to the world.

This site exists to make those numbers visible. Every statistic comes from official government reports, international organisations, or credible journalism. Nothing here is fabricated. All sources are cited. The news feed aggregates directly from South African publishers and links back to the original articles — we do not claim their work.

This is not a party-political project. It is not affiliated with the DA, EFF, ANC, or any other organisation. It is a record of what has happened to a country, compiled by someone who cares enough to say so.

“The first step to fixing a problem is admitting it exists.”

The "Getting Out" section exists because South Africans leaving for the United States — and the Trump administration's decision to fast-track their resettlement — is one of the most significant stories about South Africa's failure that the international media underreports.
